Edinburgh First is embarking on a year-long development project to transform the John McIntyre Conference Centre at Pollock Halls; the main residential campus of the University of Edinburgh. The building will be fully refurbished and extended to create a flexible high-capacity conference venue in the heart of Edinburgh; opening in September 2009.
The extension adds a 378sqm room and two executive boardrooms to compliment four existing rooms. All the meeting spaces are on the first floor offering total flexibility for your programme and also convenience, as all the delegates are together in one place. The largest new room, Pentland, is ideal for plenary sessions seating up to 350 theatre style. There are four breakout rooms accommodating up to 60 delegates in each, a central lounge area with exhibition space, free wifi, state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment in all the rooms, potential for a conference office and business suite, a reception foyer and outdoor terrace; with stunning views across Edinburgh's majestic extinct volcano, Arthur's Seat. Downstairs, delegates can enjoy their meals in the refurbished contemporary-style restaurant.
